Transparent LED Film: Turn Storefront Glass Into an Advertising Asset
Short answer: transparent LED film is a self-adhesive, 2–5 mm-thin LED display that sticks directly onto glass, stays 60–90% transparent, and plays full-color video to everyone walking past — while daylight keeps coming in. It's the only screen that turns the glass you already own (shop windows, mall atriums, glass facades) into media without construction.
- No construction: self-adhesive film cut to your exact glass size; installs in hours, not days.
- 60–90% transparent: daylight in, media out — from inside, shoppers barely notice it.
- Pitch by distance: P2–P2.6 in-mall close viewing; P3.9–P7.8 street windows; P7.8–P15 huge atrium/facade glass.
- Perfect for: retail windows, mall atrium railings and roofs, car showrooms, airport and bank glass walls.
How transparent LED film actually works
Instead of a solid panel of LEDs, the film places LED lamp beads on ultra-thin transparent PCB strips with wide gaps between the strips. Your eye fills in the gaps — so when content plays, you see a vivid image floating on the glass; when it's off, the glass looks nearly untouched. The film carries a self-adhesive backing and ships cut to each panel's exact dimensions, including shaped and curved glass on curved-surface projects.

Choosing the right pitch for your glass
| Scenario | Viewing distance | Recommended pitch |
|---|---|---|
| In-mall shopfront, interior glass wall | 1–5 m | P2–P2.6 |
| Street-facing shop window | 5–20 m | P3.9–P7.8 |
| Mall atrium railing / roof glass | 10–40 m | P7.8–P15 |
| Building facade glass curtain wall | 30 m+ | P10–P20 |
Rule of thumb stays the same as every LED decision: minimum comfortable viewing distance in meters ≈ pixel pitch in mm. Finer pitch costs more per square meter — don't pay for pixels nobody stands close enough to see.
Where it's being used right now
- Retail windows: product films and promotions playing on glass that used to hold a static vinyl — updated remotely, changed weekly.
- Mall atriums: glass railings and roofs become seasonal campaign canvases; the mall sells the space to brands exactly like a facade wall.
- Car showrooms: glass showrooms play launch films while the cars stay fully visible.
- Banks, airports, corporate lobbies: welcome content and information on entrance glass without losing openness.
Installation: faster than any other screen
- Measure the glass — we cut the film to exact panel dimensions (including shapes).
- Clean and apply — installers apply the self-adhesive film like a large decal; a storefront typically takes hours.
- Connect control + power — a slim cable runs to a control box; receiving card mounts at the frame.
- Play content — media player on site, or remote management over WiFi/4G from one dashboard.
No steel structure. No framing. No landlord battles over the facade — it's your own glass.
Outdoor glass? Check the rating
Interior glass (malls, showrooms) uses standard film. Street-facing and exterior glass needs an outdoor-rated film with weatherproofing and higher brightness (4,000–5,500 nits) to beat sunlight. Tell us the orientation and city climate and we'll spec the right model — brightness that's insufficient for a sun-facing window is the most common first-time-buyer mistake.

What is transparent LED film?
An ultra-thin self-adhesive LED display (2–5 mm) that mounts directly on glass, 60–90% transparent, playing full-color video while daylight passes through. Cut to the exact dimensions of each glass panel.
Which pitch for a storefront?
P2–P2.6 for close in-mall viewing (1–5 m); P3.9–P7.8 for street-facing windows (5–20 m); P7.8–P15+ for large atrium and facade glass.
Does it block daylight?
No — 60–90% transparency keeps the store bright. LED strips are only noticeable when content plays.
How is it installed and powered?
Applied to clean glass like a large decal (hours per storefront), a slim cable to a control box, receiving card at the frame; content from a media player or remote dashboard over WiFi/4G.
